Facebook will be entering into some profit sharing with retail networks as if it didn’t have enough money already and will draw criticism from those who claim Facebook doesn’t do enough to protect users privacy.
Users can get discounts at special retailers Facebook has selected to do business with while they browse deals with the new “Facebook Deals Service” on their iPhone or smartphone.
Well known brands like McDonalds, J.C. Penny, and REI will be participating and deals will be offered depending on a shoppers location.
Some users are concerned about privacy as they shop. Facebook will share their data and buying habits and preferences with retailers.
