Putin Bans Microsoft Software In Place Of Open Source Linux

Microsoft is knocking on the door of Russia for running pirated version of Linux.

Vladimir Putin has ordered that all computers in the government will run Linux instead of Microsoft software after learning that many computers running in government offices were running pirated versions of Windows.

The conversion to Open Source Linux is expected to take place in 2012, and any offices found using pirated software won’t be allocated in the government budget.
