Police forcibly remove protesters who refuse to leave the Wisconsin Capitol building as the Senate there approves an amended bill limiting bargaining rights for pay raises of teachers and union workers.
The bill is now on the way to be signed into law by Governor Scott Walker.
Protesters blocked exits, and slept on the floor to prevent lawmakers from entering the building to vote on the bill.
Outside, cars drove by beeping horns, protesters pounded on windows, as the vote passed in the Senate with the absence of 14 Democratic senators who refused to return to vote on the bill.
Protesters shouted “Shame!” and “You lied to Wisconsin!” as the bill passed.
The bill is meant to close $137 million budget deficit and to avoid the layoffs of other public employees.
