Sanford Police department in Trayvon Martin case has troubled past with black suspects

Downtown Sanford, FL

I have a report now that the officer that arrived on the scene of the Trayvon Martin murder was in charge of a case that involved a beating of an unsuspecting black homeless man.

It appears now that virtually the entire police department in Sanford, FL has been involved in numerous incidents where black suspects were killed or beaten in “self defense”.

In 2005, a parking lot security guard and son of a Sanford Police department veteran shot a black teen in the back killing him. More on that story here.

This story is huge and developing and is not going away any time soon. A grand jury will most likely hear the case.

That is when eyewitness testimony will be corrobarated so we can find out what really happened.

But as it stands now, the racially tinged past of the Sanford Police Department must be investigated to find out why Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed Martin, has not been arrested and charged yet.
