At the thought of giving some people a nervous breakdown, if you are hopelessly addicted to your semi-magical palm pilot, you might want to skip out on this activity.

A group called the Sabbath Manifesto wants you to Friday night at sundown until sundown Saturday:

Shut down your computer. Turn off your cellphone. Stop the constant emailing, texting, Tweeting and Facebooking to take time to notice the world around you. Connect with loved ones. Nurture your health. Get outside. Find silence. Avoid commerce. Give back. Eat Together.

The time to unplug coincides with the Jewish Sabbath.

Come on people, its only 24 hours.

But, if you took part in the pledge, think of all the news and fun stuff you’d miss out on here at NEXTGEN FM.

Yeah, it’s not worth it. But if you decide to put yourself through this tribulation, check back Sunday for the latest news.
