Freeze warning tonight may kill your plants, winter is back

    Looks like it is time to bring in those plants from outside if you don’t want to walk outside and find them dead in the morning.

    Winter isn’t over yet!

    …FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 9 AM EDT TUESDAY…
    THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON HAS ISSUED A FREEZE WARNING…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 9 AM EDT TUESDAY. THE FREEZE WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
    * TEMPERATURES…UPPER 20S TO LOWER 30S.
    * IMPACTS…UNPROTECTED VEGETATION THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO A FREEZE WILL BE AT RISK FOR DAMAGE. MORE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO VEGETATION WILL OCCUR IN LOCATIONS WHERE TEMPERATURES DROP BELOW 28 DEGREES FOR 3 OR MORE HOURS.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
    A FREEZE WARNING MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE IMMINENT OR HIGHLY LIKELY. THESE CONDITIONS WILL KILL CROPS AND OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION.

    You should bring in your tomato plants, geraniums, and basil plants tonight or put a blanket over them to prevent frost damage.
