URGENT…
SANFORD, FL (NEXTGEN FM) –
George Zimmerman is behind bars in Sanford, FL and is being kept away from other inmates for his own safety. Zimmerman voluntarily turned himself in after rumors were abound that he was out of state and in hiding.
His new lawyer hopes to bail Zimmerman out of jail but Zimmerman’s family is said to be poor. The judge in the case could declare Zimmerman immune from being found guilty based on Florida’s controversial “Stand Your Ground” law.
That law is expected to be argued by lawyers on both sides in the case.
Zimmerman’s lawyers plan to plead not guilty in the shooting death of 17 year old Trayvon Martin.
