Baltimore’s inner harbor is going to be under a sailing ship invasion this weekend in celebration of the 1812 battle at Fort McHenry in which the British were forced to retreat after an intense bombardment.
Tall sailing ships begin to arrive today as people watched from on shore as the giant masts rose above the horizon.
Ships are arriving from all over the world and tours will be given on board to all visitors all weekend long.
The Blue Angels will fly Saturday but visitors can expect heavy traffic in downtown Baltimore. Places to watch include Locust Point and Federal Hill.
