Colorado Governor says Aurora is safe and that Dark Knight shooting will not change freedom to carry a gun

71 people were confirmed shot, 2 died at area hospitals, 10 were found dead on the scene

    The governor of Colorado, John Hickenlooper, said that Aurora is still safe and that the shooting that killed 12 and left 50 injured will not change the right to carry a gun in Colorado.

    Another official said the shooting was an isolated incident.

    Hundreds of officers arrived within minutes according to a policeman at the conference.

    3 weapons were found in the shooter James Holme’s car.

    A shotgun, rifle, and handgun were found on the scene and in Holme’s car.

    The shooter used an AR 15 rifle and a .40 caliber Glock in his shooting rampage inside the crowded theater.

    71 people were confirmed shot, 2 died at area hospitals, 10 were found dead on the scene.

    A police spokesperson said that the Aurora Mall has been closed for the day to allow police to investigate.

    The suspect apparently surrendered without resistance to police at the scene.

    The next update from police will be at 7pm at Aurora City Hall.
