2 shot dead in shooting near Texas A&M

    An officer and a civilian are dead after a gunman fired on them with automatic weapons from what appears to be his house.

    The shooting was not on the school’s campus, but nearby.

    The shooting happened about one block from campus and one civilian was injured.

    Fall classes are due to start on August 27.

    The gunman appears to have been wounded during the shootout.
