Tornadoes and heavy rain battering Baltimore area

  • Latest storm update from the National Weather Service

    Be ready for a wild and wet night in Baltimore.



    Baltimore and Harford Counties are under a Flash Flood Warning until 12:45am and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 12:00am.

    This storm is capable of producing hail up to the size of quarters and damaging winds in excess of 60 miles an hour.

    This is a dangerous storm. If you are in it’s path, move indoors immediately and stay away from windows.

    There are currently about 14,000 customers without power, most in Baltimore County and Baltimore City.

    Heavy rain is affecting the area and possible tornadoes may have touched down in parts of Baltimore and Harford county.

    If a tornado warning is issued for your area, take shelter in the lowest area of your house under a heavy sturdy object for protection or cover yourself with a sleeping bag or mattress.

    Get away from large windows as they usually break during tornadoes.
