Looking for something to do this weekend?

Fort McHenry will be celebrating Defenders Day this weekend, an official Maryland holiday celebrated on September 12, commemorating the defense of Baltimore during the War of 1812 September 13 and 14, 1814.

Lots of activities for this weekend: cannons will be fired, there will be marches and parades and plenty of youth activities, as well as historical talks.

Saturday at 6pm at Fort McHenry there will be a concert by the U.S. Naval Academy band and a symbolic ship-to-shore “bombardment” and fireworks display.

WBAL’s Ava Marie talks with Ranger Vince, gotta love Ranger Vince, and others about fashion at the upcoming Star-Spangled Banner Weekend at Fort McHenry, which honors Defenders Day on Sept. 12.

Go here for the complete schedule of activities for this weekend.
