6.1 magnitude Earthquake wakes up San Francisco and Northern California

Thousands without power across Northern California, injuries in Napa County

  • A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck 3 miles northwest of American Canyon (Napa County) at 3:20 a.m.

    UPDATE: has since been upgraded to a 6.1 magnitude earthquake via CNN

    It woke many residents in San Francisco and all across Norther California. Many reported pictures being knocked off mantles.

    Damage reports are coming in and videos being posted to YouTube.

    San Francisco police are inspecting for damage so far no major damage has been reported at stations. However damage is being reported in American Canyon, CA near the epicenter and there are reports of building damage coming in.

    Several people on Twitter claimed the quake woke their pets as they slept, and that they themselves slept through the quake.

    Several seismologists are predicting aftershocks.
