  • Seven protesters were taken into custody along with an eighth person who was attempting to record video of a protest designed to draw attention to the controversial 5-4 Citizens United Ruling by the Supreme Court passed 5 years ago today.

The ruling loosened restrictions on campaign finance donations, raising the limits on how much can be donated to a candidates election campaign.

The same group of protesters put out a video they recorded inside the court while it was in session protesting Citizens United in February of 2014. You can watch it below.

One of the protesters in that incident spent a night in jail and was ordered to stay away from the court building for a year. The protesters today suffered the same fate.
