Even though it was part of a commercial for Target, the performance of Shots by Imagine Dragons was by far the best performance of the night, even if Target was behind it.
The new album Smoke & Mirrors by Imagine Dragons is set to be released in the U.S. February 17 but you can pre-order the deluxe edition that includes four extra tracks.
The commercial time didn’t come cheap. It is estimated the 4 minute performance break cost Target $8 million.
On January 26, 2015, the third single “Shots” was released via Vevo. The next day it was released to iTunes.
In January 2015, music magazine Q published a positive review of the album, calling it “modern pop-rock gem” and also noting it as an improvement upon their debut album Night Visions. Illinois Entertainer published an interview with Reynolds on February 2, 2015, saying the album is “an ambitious, rock-solid effort, with potential hits galore.”
