An Amazon Web Services outage early Monday morning is still causing havoc online as millions wake up to no Reddit and disruptions in cloud computing environments. Amazon has not disclosed the cause of the outage and says things are improving. The outage stems from the enormous data centers in the eastern United States that power giant swaths of the internet. The outage is even affecting front line operations in the Ukraine war.
Some are worried about having so much power and control concentrated in one area of the internet where an outage there could take down access for millions of users.
