The two surviving members of the Canadian power house progressive rock band Rush are set to start a new tour with a new drummer. It marks the first time since longtime drummer Neil Peart’s death in 2020 that they will play together with a new drummer as Rush.
In a video posted to YouTube they describe the experience of jamming with drummer Annika Nilles, and how great of a tribute it would be to Neil to perform their again. They said that playing their old songs together brought new life and inspiration.
Anika Nilles hails from Germany and played in Jeff Beck’s live band in 2022. Her playing style is reminiscent of Neil’s and will be a perfect fit and tribute. Fans on Reddit and across the internet are going nuts for the 2026 tour that will cover seven cities from Toronto to Mexico City. Pre-sale tickets can be found here.
